Bottles of luck

A homeless Russian man has become a stockbroker after collecting thousands of bottles. Leonid Konovalov, 63 – who had spent 20 years living in a rubbish dump – has had an incredible twist of luck after he started collecting empty glass bottles and selling them on.

Hamburger assault

A Welsh man was arrested over the criminal damage of two burgers. Stephen Morgan, 31, was preparing for a night in front of the TV when he was arrested and taken to his nearby police station after allegedly damaging fast food -valued at £5.

PA sacked over meatballs

A German boss sacked his assistant for eating one of his meatballs. When Magdalene Happ – who had worked for Hermann Schulte-Hiltop for 34 years – prepared a tasty dinner for boss, she couldn’t resist tasting one of the meaty treats herself.

Confused shop staff

Shop staff in the US threw money at a man who wasn’t robbing them. Workers in the Five Star Snacks and More store in Waterloo, Iowa were so paranoid the shop would be targeted by robbers they threw a bag of cash at a customer who was just trying to shop.

An Australian Policeman arrested a crocodile for being grumpy. The stroppy croc spent three days behind bars after he was spotted looking for victims near a fence in the country’s Northern Territory

A US woman let her daughter ride in a box on top of her van. A woman from Alabama has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after police claimed she would allow her 13-year-old daughter to sit in a cardboard box on the roof of the vehicle.
